Creating a digital project is something within reach of anyone, but how much money is needed to create a project on the Internet? If you are interested in creating a blog or any other online project and do not know how much it will cost, read on.
Having a project on the Internet is fashionable.
More and more people have some kind of online project, be it a blog on any subject, a Facebook page, an online store or a Youtube channel.
In cases such as having a Facebook page or a Youtube channel, you do not need to invest anything, but when you want to create a website or blog, it is advisable to do it in a professional manner by hiring your own hosting and installing WordPress.
The platforms to create websites for free are not recommended , unless you just want a blog to upload photos of kittens.
Faced with this situation, several readers have contacted me several times asking me what they need to do to create a digital project and how much money they need to invest, which is why I have decided to publish this post.
How much money do I need to create a blog or web page?
First of all I want to say that if you are interested in creating your own blog , do not be alarmed because the expenses to do so are minimal.
Really the possibilities that have a blog on the Internet gives you and what you can get, it weighs much more than the investment that is needed, so the balance clearly is decided because you decide to start your project.
To create your own blog or website in a professional way, you just need to follow the following steps:
- Buy a domain.
- Hire a hosting
- Instalar WordPress.
- Buy a professional template.
How much can all this cost me?
The price for buying a domain is about 8/10 € per year, approximately. I contract all my domains with Godaddy .

Installing WordPress when hiring your hosting is very simple, and it is also free.
Finally, I use the Genesis Framework in all my blogs and I think they are the best templates for WordPress.
When you buy the Genesis Framework, you receive the template "father" or base, and then the template "daughter" that you choose (which is responsible for the design of the blog).
Both templates come out for about $ 100.
In total we are talking about an annual investment of:
- € 10 for the domain.
- € 70 for hosting.
- € 100 for the template.
So in total you would need about € 180 to create your blog with WordPress and have your hosting contracted for a year.
Keep in mind that the hosting can hire it paying the full year or pay it month to month.
If during the first year you work your blog properly, the normal thing is that if you start to monetize your blog, after a year and start generating income, at least to cover the monthly expenses of hosting and to give you some caprice, although surely you can earn much more.
I do not have enough money to start my blog. What do I do?
As I said, the hosting can be paid month by month, so the initial investment can decrease to € 110.
If you still do not have this money, you can do two things:
- Wait until you have saved the money.
- Hiring a mini loan how the microloan credits .
With these micro loans you can ask for up to € 3,000 and a loan of only € 200 offers you a fee of only € 10 / month.
In any case, my recommendation is not to wait and start your project as soon as possible, although I also recommend paying the loan as soon as possible.
