Imagine that you are in a bar and you meet a friend that you have not seen for years. Of course, it makes you the typical question we usually ask: What do you do?
At that moment the cosmos is paralyzed and your mind begins to run at full speed to give an answer that really impresses.
Doubts begin to haunt your head.
Your friend is totally dressed with a brand-name watch on his wrist and his hair is completely slicked back, so it seems that he is doing quite well.
"Surely this guy has triumphed and is lined with money."
In the best case, you have been working for a number of years in a company for someone else, and although you really hate your job, you try to decorate it with a title with terms in English to make an impression.
- I'm "sales assistant", not to mention a commercial that struggles every month to achieve your goals.
- I am "finnancial manager and operations controller" not to say that you are a pure and hard accountant.
- I am "commercial assistant of a multinational dedicated to the extraction of crude oil", not to mention that you simply work as a cashier at a gas station.
The reality that hides behind your title of nobility is that you do not like the work you have , and do not even bother looking for something better because you do not want to risk leaving the security that your job gives you.
As someone once said:
"... if your work is crap, do not leave it colony ... it's worse".
Maybe you finished the race 6 years ago and you have not found a job, and you tell your friend that you wanted to take a sabbatical time to get to know you internally ... or maybe you are doing a master to add it to your curriculum along with the rest of the masters, courses, and other stories that appear on your resume.
That's very good, but when do you expect to find your first job? ... at 40?
Maybe you are begging from work to work since after spending 6 or 7 years of your life to study engineering, you have only found work at Mcdonalds by putting Mcflurrys or distributing advertising at € 3 per hour.
Maybe you're directly out of work , and you're tired of browsing the pages of Infojobs, seeing when you subscribe to an offer that to get this job you'll have to stand out among 3,000 other candidates.
Worst of all, is that time goes by and you stagnate, discouraging and paralyzing while you think that the fault of your situation is the politicians, who are also all chorizos.
High! Get out of the pack.
If you have felt identified with any of the situations that I have just commented, it is time for someone to give you a camp, a fire alarm sound in your brains, you stop walking like a sheep among the herd following the current .
Time is one of the most precious values we have, and you can not waste time waiting for "the thing" to change.
Now is the time to act, to take action, to decide to change your situation.
Of course there are limitations, which is not easy ... but it is time to plan the future you want to live, and take action to get it.
I know that you have tried hard to get a race and it has not been worth anything. Normal! There are another 20 million people who also have a career.
If that is your case, you should think about what you can do to stand out from the rest.
For example, I decided to make a blog one day , and that allowed me to stand out to get a job as a web manager (or as we would say in English: web manager and online marketing assistant and consultant ).
Were there other candidates with careers and better curriculum than me? Of course, but the decision I made one day to create a blog led me to get this job.
Does this mean that if you create a blog you will have the security of getting a job?
No , but it is a way to let you know and share your knowledge about a certain topic or sector, opening your way as an expert in this subject.
It is also something else that you can include in your curriculum.
"... Do you want to know what knowledge I have, what I do and who I am? Visit my blog. "
I'm not just talking about making a blog. I mean you look a little towards your future and think about what you want to achieve.
If you simply pretend to get your pension when you retire (... if there is money left for pensions) keep working for 40 years without complicating your head.
If you want to get a job, do what you should do to stand out from the rest.
If you want to get more customers for your company or business, look for the right way to stand out from your competition.
Do not settle and ponds thinking that what happens to you is happening to this entire generation. There is a saying…. "Evil of many, consolation of fools".
The important thing is that you are not afraid to be different . Visualize your goal and take action to obtain it. It's never too late to start .
